Polk JVs notch back-to-back baseball wins at Mitchell

Polk County’s junior varsity improved to 8-2-1 on Wednesday with a 5-4 win at Mitchell in Western Highlands Conference baseball action.

The two teams played three innings before the game was called due to darkness.

Jonothan Edwards earned the win, allowing five hits with two strikeouts in pitching all three innings.

Jordan Bishop had a solo homer for Polk County, with Edwards going 2-for-2 and Brad Marcello going 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs. Bryson Edwards finished 1-for-2 and scored a run.

The Wolverines also defeated Mitchell on Friday, 6-5, in a two-inning game.

Bishop had an inside-the-park home run and drove in three runs, while Bryson Edwards finished 2-for-2 and scored twice. Jordan Searcy was 1-for-1 with two RBI.
