Polk County’s duo of Ryan and Henry Heider suffered a straight-set setback Friday to Voyager Academy’s Ben and Kolbe McQuaid in the opening round of the state 1A doubles tournament.

The McQuaids notched a 6-2, 7-5 victory in the quarterfinal match at Cary Tennis Center in Cary.

Ryan Heider, a junior, and Henry Heider, a freshman, qualified for the state tournament by placing second in last week’s 1A West Regional.
