Polk County-Mitchell clash to once again get live Thursday night broadcast

The National Guard brought a large inflatable helmet for Polk County players to race through prior to the 2015 televised game with Mitchell.

For the third consecutive season, Polk County and Mitchell will square off on the football field in front of a live television audience.

WMYA-TV will offer a live broadcast of this year’s Wolverine-Mountaineer clash, now set for Thursday, Oct. 19 in G.M. Tennant Stadium. The two teams met in Polk County in 2015 in the station’s first live broadcast, with last year’s game in Ledger also televised.

The game will have a 7 p.m. kickoff.
