Fans attending next month’s Atlantic Coast Conference Football Championship Game will have a chance to enjoy a bit of Polk County as they wait for kickoff.
Polk County High School’s cheerleaders have been chosen to be part of the pregame show for the ACC Championship, which will match Clemson and Miami on December 2 in Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
The Wolverines will take 31 cheerleaders to the event, said PCHS cheer coach Elisa Flynn.
“We’re excited,” Flynn said. “The girls started learning the material (last) week.”
The Polk cheerleaders will join teams from other schools selected by the Universal Cheerleaders Association to take part in the pre-game performance. The UCA supplies routines that all teams will perform.
A large group of family members and friends will be traveling to Charlotte with the team, Flynn said.
