Polk County completed a perfect run through its Western Highlands Conference schedule on Tuesday, sweeping Madison in straight sets in Marshall.
The Wolverines closed their regular season with a 25-12, 25-13, 25-16 victory, finishing the season 20-3 overall, 10-0 in conference play. Polk County did not lose a set in any of those 10 conference matches.
Reagan Waddell had 10 kills and 29 digs for Polk County, with Ansley Lynch adding nine kills and 19 digs. Grace Lauer also had nine kills, with Mireya Roman adding six kills. Kristen Hall had seven kills and 11 assists while Kendall Hall had 29 digs, Lauren Ketwitz had 16 assists and eight digs and Sydney Waldman had eight assists.
Polk County’s junior varsity closed its season with a 25-19, 25-16 victory.
Pairings for the state 1A playoffs will be announced Thursday. Polk County, which began the day ranked fifth in the 1A state computer ratings that will be used to help seed the teams, could receive a first-round bye.
