Polk County slowed down Crest’s explosive offense, but still suffered a 2-0 loss Monday to the Chargers in non-conference girls soccer action in Boiling Springs.

Crest (6-0) averaged almost seven goals per game in its first five wins, but the Wolverines (2-3) held the Chargers to a single goal in each half.

Polk County is scheduled to be back in action on Wednesday, hosting Shelby in another non-conference battle. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.

POLK MIDDLE SOCCER FALLS: Apple Valley handed Polk County Middle a 5-0 defeat Monday in a Blue Ridge Conference girls soccer match at Polk.

The Wolverines dropped to 1-3 with the loss while Apple Valley improved to 3-1.

Polk Middle is scheduled to be back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Brevard Middle.

APPLE VALLEY TOPS PCMS SOFTBALL: Apple Valley held Polk Middle to one hit Monday en route to a 15-0 victory at Polk County Recreation Complex.

Jaylan Brady had the sole hit for the Wolverines (0-4).

Polk Middle is scheduled to be back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Brevard Middle.
