Polk County Middle School’s boys soccer tryouts will start a bit later than originally planned, with the first session now slated for August 10 from 6-8 p.m. at the school.
Middle school boys soccer tryouts will now be held Aug. 10-11 and Aug. 14-15 from 6-8 p.m. All rising sixth through eighth graders are eligible to try out. Players must have an updated sports physical before participating in practice, and those forms are available in the school office.
Cross country practices will also begin earlier than originally planned, with the first session now scheduled for August 14 at 4 p.m. Anyone who wants to join the cross country team but cannot make the earlier practice should alert the school.
Tryouts for the other fall sports will continue as originally planned:
* Football: First day of practice is August 7, 8-10:30 a.m.
* Volleyball: Tryouts slated for Aug. 14-16 from 9-11 a.m.
* Cheerleading: Cheer camp will be held Aug. 14-17 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Athletes should bring a water bottle and a packed lunch. Anyone attending Jump Start will be able to leave at 11 a.m. in order to get to cheer camp.
