Macon lefty holds Polk Middle to two hits in victory

Polk County Middle's Coble Cameron had one of the Wolverines' two hits Tuesday.

Macon County Middle held Polk County Middle to two hits Tuesday en route to a 10-0 win in Blue Ridge Conference baseball action in Franklin.

Angus Weaver’s second-inning single and Coble Cameron’s third-inning single were the only hits for the Wolverines (1-2).

Cameron’s two-out base hit, followed by Chan Barber being hit by a pitch and a passed ball, gave Polk its best scoring opportunity of the day. But Macon lefthander Chris McGuire was able to get the final out of the inning, then retired the final 10 Wolverines in order to seal the win.

McGuire struck out seven and walked two in the complete-game shutout.

The Wolverines are scheduled to be back in action on Thursday, hosting Madison Middle.
