Lincoln Charter brought one of the most successful seasons in Polk County’s boys tennis history to an end Tuesday, handing the Wolverines a 6-3 loss in the second round of the state 1A tennis tournament.
The Wolverines end their season with a 13-4 record. Lincoln Charter improves to 14-1 and advances to a 1A regional semifinal matchup on Monday at Bishop McGuinness.
Polk County’s Ryan Heider and Henry Heider each won their singles matches Tuesday, with Henry Heider rallying from a first-set loss to win the second set and tiebreaker, but the Eagles swept the remaining four matches, then won at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to seal the win.
