Polk County’s junior varsity girls continued their winning ways on Tuesday, topping Brevard 28-19 in a non-conference matchup at Polk.
The Wolverines (5-1) built a 16-10 halftime lead, then pulled away in the third period, holding Brevard to just two points in the quarter.
Marissa Twitty scored six points to lead a balanced Polk County offense. Emmie McDowell had five points, with Savannah Parris scoring four and Kaylin Jenkins adding three.
The Wolverines got two points each from Amy Chupp, Emily Prince, Anna McFadden, Hannah Jenne and Alana Jergenson.

Polk County (1-8) surged to a 20-16 halftime lead, but struggled to find points in the third period, scoring just three as Brevard pulled ahead, then held off the determined Wolverines in the final quarter to seal the win.
Keyandre Thomas had eight points to pace the Wolverines, with Wesley Royster and Tyler Staley each scoring six. Kiyon Staley aadded four and Shaq Wingo scored three for Polk.
Polk County also received two points each from Shane Parris, Ben Hardin, Brett Bagwell and Bryson Edwards.
Both Polk County teams complete their pre-holiday schedule on Wednesday, traveling to East Henderson.
