An improving Polk County Middle School softball squad dropped an 11-1 decision Wednesday at Rugby Middle School.
The loss dropped Polk County to 0-3 on the season, but head coach Rachel McEntire found plenty of good things in the setback.
“We had difficulty scoring, but our pitchers, Anna Hodge and Anna McFadden, are improving,” McEntire said. “Ansley Lynch at shortstop and Tana Harris in center field made some excellent plays.
“We made a few careless errors at bad times that cost us runs. However, I feel like we are improving.”
Polk Middle is back in action on Monday, journeying to Apple Valley for a 4:30 p.m. game.
