Guerrero helps lead Polk JV girls to victory

Jenn Guerrero had a game-high 15 points Tuesday in leading Polk County to its third win of the season.

Polk County’s girls junior varsity earned its third win of the season on Tuesday, nipping North Buncombe 30-28 in a non-conference game at Polk.

The Wolverines (3-11) built a 14-9 lead at halftime, extended the advantage to 24-15 entering the final period and held off a North Buncombe rally to secure the win.

Jenn Guerrero had 15 points to lead the Wolverines, with Kiri Ashley and Makalya Staley each scoring six, Paulina Harden scoring two and Amy Chupp adding one.

The Wolverines return to the court on Wednesday, hosting Landrum at 4 p.m.
