Gallery: Wolverines hold annual midnight football practice

Midnight had a much different sound Saturday in Wolverine Stadium, the echoes of popping shoulder pads and shouts of encouragement filling the air.

Polk County held its first scrimmage action of the 2015 preseason shortly after midnight, an annual tradition for the Wolverine program. With a decent crowd of family and friends in the stands, head coach Jamie Thompson and senior quarterback Jamal Wheeler led Polk County onto the playing surface in Wolverine Stadium, through the standard pregame warmups and then into simulated game action.

Polk County will be back in Wolverine Stadium on Tuesday, hosting East Rutherford at 6:30 p.m. in the first of the team’s two preseason scrimmages.
