Area motorcyclists fare well at Rockhouse hare scramble

A number of area motorcyclists competed in Sunday’s final race of the 2013 Mid East Hare Scramble Series, the Rockhouse in Morganton.

Hare scrambles are off-road races, often on challenging wooded circuits, with riders competing multiple laps around a closed course.

Local competitors included:

– Troy Lieberman of Columbus placed seventh overall and 2nd in the 85cc 12-15 class with a time of 1:08.46.

– Saluda’s Logan Easler placed 32nd overall and second in the 65cc 10-11 class with a time of 1:08.18

– Mill Spring’s Gabe O’Brien placed 33rd overall and fourth in the Trailriders class with a time of 1:09.15.

– Tryon’s Blayde Edwards finished 49th overall and ninth in Trailriders with a time of 1:15.27.
